5 things to do in Ottawa this weekend

The weekend is approaching, and you're wondering what on earth is there to do in Ottawa during weekends. Fear not, I'm going to show you all the five reasons why Ottawa is not the most boring city in Ottawa, and yes, I am poking fun at Gabriel Yorke's Tik Tok post. Now some of these may be subjective, but do not worry I made sure to include a variety of things in these 5 Ottawa weekend activities!

#1 Go to the National Gallery of Canada

Pros: For the art lovers, this is the place for you! There are usually different exhibits going on, and they're always so beautiful and usually caters to different tastes in art. It's also a reallyyy cute date idea, or friends' date. In general it's also really peaceful and calming.

Cons: If you're not super into art, going here might be really boring.

Entry price:

Adults - $20

Senior - $18

Student - $10

Child - Free

Family - $40

#2 Visit Tavern on the Falls

Pros: Truly a beautiful site, the air quality is top tier & it's genuinely a really great area to take a walk. Also, they have pretty good cocktails!

Cons: Despite The Falls being magnificient, Tavern on the Falls as a restaurant has very mediocre food. Especially for the price you purchase them.

Price range: $$$

#3 Discover new restaurants

Joey Rideau

50 Rideau St #106, Ottawa, ON

Pros: Really common Ottawa food spot! Most of their dishes taste amazing, would definitely recommend the Spaghetti Pomodoro.

Cons: Usually really packed, and it's quite costly for some of their smaller portions.

Price Range: $$$

RamaKrishna Indian Restaurant

417 Rideau St, Ottawa, ON

Pros: The flavour, spices, and presentation all deserve praises! Honestly, one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever been to. Also, the portions are hugeee, which I love.

Cons: It took quite a while to get our food, and the naan bread was a bit hard.

Price Range: $$

Maroo

710 Gladstone Ave, Ottawa, ON

Pros: Hidden gem, but I absolutely loveeeee this restaurant. I actually randomly found it while exploring a neighborhood, and I instantly fell in love with them! Also, every single friend I have brought to this restaurant has raved over their food, so that's a pretty good sign.

Cons: I don't think I have any, like it's also super affordable?

Price Range: $

#4 Visit Koena

Pros: Really affordable for a SPA, variety of options (between cold and hot pools), they offer really good massages, and it's honestly such a relaxing place with great drinks.

Cons: Not as big as Nordik, which was a lot more options + variety. Also, the salt rooms felt a little icky, so I didn't really enjoy that room as much.

All day access: $49 - $55

Evening access: $39 - $45

Find out more on their website.

#5 Visit the Parliament

Pros: Affordableeeee, and one of the biggest Ottawa tourist attractions! Also, you can have cute picnic dates on Parliament hill, which is great if you enjoy nature and greenery! The guided tours are also really interesting if you're into Canadian history.

Cons: I won't deny it, going to the Parliament during the weekend is not super exciting. I feel people would rather sleep in than visit the Parliament during the weekend. Like I definitely wouldn't wake up on a Saturday morning yearning to go to the Parliament, but hey, someone might!
